After a lot of discussions, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has finally launched the cheapest smartphone Redmi 5A in India after launching in China in October. The company is telling the country’s smartphone and its price has been kept at Rs 4,999. However, only the first 5 million units of the 2GB RAM, 16GB storage will be available with this price. The company has said that this smartphone gives 8 days of battery backup.
Another variant of Redmi 5A has also been launched, with 32GB of internal memory being provided with 3GB of RAM. Its price is Rs. 6,999. Redmi 5A can be purchased at the Customer e-commerce website Flipkart and from the company’s official MI Home Store and website. The beginning of the sale will start from December 7.
It is worth mentioning that the company has also launched this smartphone in rural areas and hence the company is promoting it in the name of country’s smartphone. According to the company, it has been designed only for India and also assembles here in India.
This smartphone was launched in China in October itself. But with the launch in India, the company has made some changes in it. It can be used with two nano SIMs and also has a slot for putting an SD card.
Redmi 5A specifications:
Redmi 5A has a 5-inch HD display and has a 1.4GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor. This phone runs on Android Nougat-based MIUI 9 and has been given 4G VoLTE for connectivity. Apart from this, there are other standard connectivity features which include WiFi and Bluetooth. For the graphics it has been given the Adreno 308 GPU.
For photography, a 13-megapixel rear camera has been given in the Redmi 5A, which has an aperture f / 2.2 and LED flash is also included. For the selfie it has a 5 megapixel front camera. The battery of this phone is 3,000 mAh which is non-removable. It measures 140.4×70.1×8.35mm, and weighs 137 grams.
